It's the Tide Pod Generation at it again, with false claims of health benefits, by eating...soap!
I would like to specify first and foremost, I am not a doctor...but I also am not in the habit of eating soap, or soap products either.
Warning labels are there for a very specific reason...so you all don't poison yourselves.
I'm sorry to have to put this out there, but it's important that people don't consume Borax.
There is no conspiracy. It has been deemed unsafe for human consumption. It's a soap additive and pesticide.
A pesticide to kill bugs! That's right, if you eat it, you are eating bug poison.
I go through this video as to the reasons why, lethal limits, as well as safer alternatives.
Eating Borax is the new Tide Pod challenge...in other words, don't do it, cause it's dangerous and stupid.
For anyone who claims it's a conspiracy, I base my information on scientific fact from more than one source, and not just from government agencies, but from independent studies and university studies, and well researched medical documentation.
Poisonous levels:
Children: 5 to 6 grams (half a teaspoon)
Adults: 10 to 25 grams
Symptoms:
rashes
vomiting
nausea
irritation
respiratory
problems
impaired male sex
drive
infertility
organ damage
unconsciousness
depression
diarrhea
renal failure (kidney failure)
death
Safe Sources of Boron (if you need to have some in your diet as per your doctor or dietician):
News reel from CTV news (Canadian News Broadcasting company - As a note, the Criminal Code of
Canada - section 181 - Spreading false news. It is an offence to
knowingly publish false information that causes harm to public interest,
with a maximum penalty of up to two years in prison.
Youtube Shorts on the dangers of Boric Acid
News clip from 11Alive - Based in Georgia (state), about dangers of Borax consumption
Another video with a registered dietitian, advising against eating Borax, posted as of August 11 2023
Editorial with a doctor, and from the Poison Control center, advising not to eat Borax:
At the end of the day, the smart thing to do is to consult a medical doctor with a PHD, not some random nutritionist influencer on the internet.

Follow this link to the pattern and @boigameista blog on Tumblr:
Stitch with me, as I fix my pants, using some visible mending techniques, with some LoFi tunes playing, so you can listen and do your own thing, or work on some stitching of your own.
On this segment, of the Wheel of Time Craft-Along Challenge, we're going
to take you through the basic pattern, and knitting details, for the
final construction of the knitted version of my Aes Sedai shawl.
This includes fiber types, knitting techniques and design elements.
Remember, you can use whatever materials you have available to you, and
you do not have to spin your own yarn for this project.
Based on the original book series by Robert Jordan, and hopefully the
shawls will be seen in the TV series Wheel of Time in the second season.
To join in the challenge, and to be added to the playlist, please use #WoTcraftalong
Added acknowledgement: Thank you to Bernadette Banner for the
inspiration, getting me to look into the show, find the books (again)
and for the inspiration to wanting to do this project.
----------
The knitting pattern is as forward:
cast on 3 stitches

knit 1, knit forward back increase, knit forward back increase, turn
you should have 5 stitches on your needles at this point
knit 1, and knit forward back increase to the end of the row, turn your
work around
you should have 9 stitches on the needles
**knit 3, place stitch marker, yarn over increase, knit till you have 3
stitches left, yarn over, add stitch marker, knit to the end of row,
turn
knit 3, after marker purl row to next marker, knit last 3 stitches, turn
Repeat series of instructions from ** till your shawl is as big as you
want it
Knit last 3 rows all the way across rows when you are happy with the
size
I'm sorry for any delays in projects coming up, as I'm always working on a bunch in the background, including for school.
One of my school projects took a lot longer than I planned, due to the mock-up phase.
One of the first hats we have to make is a pillbox style, and I've been working on this with the final fashion fabrics for 3 days straight, on top of other errands and life stuff.
In the meantime, I will leave you with this snapshot of my mock-up of my hat.
I still have the following projects planned:
-Wheel of Time stuff (I just bought beads for the dragon pin)
-The timed trial of making the walkaway dress
-A beginners guide for people who have never sewn before
-the Q&A for beginners
-the final reveal for the Aes Sedai Shawl ( use hashtag #wotcraftalong on instagram and here on youtube)
-(maybe) showcasing how to sew an Aes Sedai shawl (Likely Green)
-possibly a showcase of the process for one of my hats step by step from college
It may just take me a little longer than I planned due to timing
If you have questions regarding sewing, comment on my videos on YouTube. I might just use them in the future!
I hope you all have a fantastic day and I look forward to hearing from you if you have questions, or would just like to say hi!
I wanted to get you a better diagram of the elements of the Aes Sedai shawl, as described from the books, and I'm hoping they will be in the show at some point.
For those of you who are making one of your own, just remember there is no time limit to this craft along this time.
To showcase your work, please use the hashtag #wotcraftalong
For those of you in the Costube community who want to make one, if you are making one, through the usual channels on Discord, if you are interested, please @ me so I can set a realistic timeframe for reveals if you would like to add one to my reveal video.
If you are on Instagram, please use the hashtag #wotcraftalong so I can find your work.
If you are a Youtuber, and making one of these shawls for your own cosplay, please tag me on Youtube so I can also find your work.
Also keep in mind, you can use mixed methods of any material. You can weave, knit, crochet, or sew to make one.
You can use natural fiber, or acrylics. You could even make one out of scraps, using patchwork techniques for quilting to make your shawl.
If anyone has questions, or needs a bit of help, please comment below.
For reference I used a very, very barebones basic knitting pattern to make it.
Edit: I have since added several videos on YouTube, for the construction, spinning, knitting pattern, and information regarding the books and the premise of the TV show on Prime.
Come join me on the journey, by watching the videos below (in construction sequence order):

I also have posted a few more videos since my last blog post. If you'd like to, please check out my videos, as well as like and subscribe if you enjoy my videos. Every little bit helps the algorithm gods.
Also as an update, I've signed up for courses and am going back to school.
Below is a photo of one of the classrooms I'm in.
In addition I'm changing a few videos that are older, and removing them as the video and audio quality is absolute crap due to their age.
That being said I still plan on doing videos soon to replace a few of the old ones that may need updating, such as machine maintenance, and terminology for home sewing machines.
As I'm going to school and not working at the moment, if you feel like supporting my channel with a small donation, I have a Ko-Fi account, at the link below:
Any support will help me with supplies and materials, (cause school supplies are expensive), caffination in the form of tea, subscriptions for tools (such as background music that I use in my current videos), or upgrades to filming equipment (currently using a Samsung Galaxy A5 as my filming camera, which is at least 5 years old)
Thank you all for those of you who are watching my videos so far, or subscribed so far, and I look forward to making more content to help you all on your creative and crafting journeys!
